Easter
1st birthday party!
My little man turns 1!
What a day! LJ had been sick for a while and was really starting to feel better by the time his actual birthday came around. We played outside and Lynn pulled the kids around in the wagon. We went out for dinner that night and as we were eating we noticed this rash all over him. We called the doctor and had to make it to Grand Rapids in 45 minutes because the office closed at 7pm. We were in Big Rapids at this time. We got there with 5 minutes to spare. I won't say how fast we had to go to get there. It ended up being roseola. If it's not 1 thing it's another. By the time Saturday came, his party day, he was doing much better. No rash.

The bucket
Our snowman
Emma and I finally got outside to build a snowman. It was the perfect kind of snow. We rolled and rolled and rolled the snow balls and ended up with the perfect sized snowman. We didn't really have anything for the eyes and mouth, so I thought it might be a good idea to make tiny little eyeballs out of snow and use food coloring to make them blue, and make the mouth red. Oh man.....it clearly didn't work. Now it just looks like he got into a fight. The red even dripped onto the body and the ground. Oh well, good story to tell I guess.
LJ's 1st haircut!
Cocoa
In February we decided to fulfill Emma's wish of getting a puppy. Lynn and I headed out on our road trip for Missouri. I know, I know...I have no idea what we were thinking. We just fell in love with Cocoa online. We left on a Friday night at 11pm and got home on Saturday night/Sunday morning around 1am. We were so tired. I don't think either of us will ever do that again. But to see the look on Emma's face made it all worth it.

The big CUT

On New Year's Eve, Emma decided that she wanted her haircut. Thanks a lot Parent Trap :] We made her wait all day and think about it, but at the end of the day she still wanted it done. So we cut it. I braided the end and cut. I honestly couldn't believe what I had just done. I really turned out cute. What a heart-braker she's going to be!
